Wij hopen dat de informatie op deze website voor U aanleiding zal zijn onze villa te huren, en daadwerkelijk onze villa op Bali te bezoeken.

Zij wonen in het paradijs op aarde – daarvan zijn de Balinezen overtuigd. Pulau Dewata, ‘Eiland der Goden’, noemen ze hun eiland in de Indische Oceaan.

Mens en natuur zorgen samen op slechts 5600 km2 voor een geweldige diversiteit. In het zuiden met de diepgroene rijstterrassen en in de rimboes van het ontoegankelijke westen heersen tropische temperaturen. Vochtig en fris is het in het hoogland met zijn in nevel gehulde bergen en ravijnen. Gloeiende lavastromen hebben in sommige streken alles verwoest. De as heeft de stranden in het noorden zwart gekleurd. Kenners weten nochtans juist deze kuststreek te appreciëren, want ze wordt toeristisch lang niet zo druk bezocht als het bedrijvige zuiden met zijn witte stranden. Koraalriffen en vaak stormachtige branding.

In nauwelijks enig ander deel van Zuidoost-Azië hebben kunst en cultuur zich zo rijk ontplooid als hier. Bali is de laatste Hindoeïstische enclave in de door islam beheerste Indonesische archipel. Duizenden tempels getuigen ervan hoe belangrijk hun goddienst in het leven van de Balinezen is. Overal komt men rechtstreeks in aanraking met religie en riten. De stilte der meditatie neemt hier een even vanzelfsprekende plaats in als het turbulente feestgewoel – contrasten, waaraande Balinezen zich geenzins storen.

Wij hebben in 2001 in het plaatsje Bukti, in het noorden van Bali ongeveer 15 kilometer ten oosten van de oude hoofdstad Singaraja, onze villa direct aan zee laten bouwen. Onder supervisie van Jeroen en Sandra Franken (Nederlanders en ondertussen zeer goede vrienden van ons met meerdere bouwprojecten op Bali) die in de buurt wonen is ons huis gebouwd. Vanaf ons terras heeft U een prachtig uitzicht over de Balinese zee. Aan de zijkant van onze villa is een toegang tot een klein zand/kiezel strand. De naam ‘Time Out” geeft aan wat de bedoeling is zodra U hier aankomt. De villa is ingericht voor 10 personen en tevens is er een apart gastenhuis voor 2 personen.

Bij de huurprijs vanaf Euro 800,00 per week (vanaf 2009 Euro 850,00 per week) is inbegrepen;

huishoudelijke hulp van 07.00 tot 20.00 uur en een tuinman die tevens ons prive-zwembad 9x5 meter onderhoudt en gratis gebruik van onze Balinese boot, met buitenboord motor(dit zonder verdere rechten en plichten).

Aangezien onze villa deel uitmaakt van een klein project van totaal 4 villa’s is er ook een security dag en nacht aanwezig. Tevens hebben wij een helpdesk die wordt vertegenwoordigd door Sudi. Ook heeft U de beschikking over een prive-chauffeur die op afroep en tegen betaling U over het eiland kan rijden om alle mooie dingen die Bali U heeft te bieden te laten zien. Massage aan huis voor ongeveer Euro 7,00 wordt U ook aangeboden, en die ‘luxe’ moet U zichzelf niet ontzeggen.

Een prachtige golfbaan “Bali Handara Kosaido Golf and Country Club” behorende tot de top 5 banen van Azië is er op ongeveer een uur rijden op 1000 meter hoogte in de bergen, dus heerlijk koel. Wij hebben speciale prijzen bedongen voor onze gasten.

Dus als U houdt van heerlijk ontspannen, regelmatig massage aan huis, mooie zeezichten en bergzichten, proeven van de oosterse cultuur, watersport en golven in een klimaat waar het altijd rond de 30 graden Celcius is, nodigen wij U uit om via de volgende menu-pagina verder te laten informeren over wat onze villa en Bali U te bieden heeft.

We hope that the information on this website will illustrate to the uninitiated that Bali is paradise on earth.

The Balinese named the island Pulau Dewata which translates to the ‘Island of the Gods’. Within 5600 km2, Man and nature coexist in an environment of enormous diversity. To the south, one finds deep green rice terraces, while the west is a tropical rainforest. The misty highlands are dotted with canyons and shrouded in mystery. This area affords one a moist, cool climate and provides welcome relief from the tropical heat. A description of this tropical paradise would be incomplete without a mention of the glorious beaches. Glowing streams of lava destroyed some parts in the western section of the isle, and the resulting ash turned all of the northern beaches their distinctive dark hue. This area is perhaps suited to the more experienced traveler. However, the pristine southern beaches fit to a tee the traditional vision of the island paradise. The broad white sand gives way to coral reefs and storm breakers just off of the coast. A plethora of sea life has its home here among the reefs. The Balinese have a highly developed sense of tradition and culture, as evidenced in the value placed by the indigenous people on artistic expression. Bali is also one of the last enclaves of Hinduism in a mostly Muslim part of the world. Thousands of temples are witness to the significance of religion is in the lives of the Balinese. One comes into contact with the rituals of the native religion in the course of daily life. These observances may take the form of silent meditation or raucous celebration. The apparent contradictions do not disturb the Balinese

In 2001, our family built a villa near the small town of Bukti in the north of Bali (this is roughly 15 kilometers east of Singaraja, the old capital city of Bali.) Under supervision of Jeroen and Sandra Franken (they became close friends) our vision was realized. Our villa is situated just steps from the Balinese Sea. Near our villa is a small sand beach. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Aptly named, our villa “Time Out” accommodates groups of maximum 10 adults and a baby in primeval luxury. There is also a guesthouse that sleeps 2 people. The villa retains two housekeepers whose duties include cleaning, laundry service and cooking from 7:oo am to 8:00 pm. The gardener cares for the grounds while you while away the hours enjoying an in-home full body massage (available for Euro 7,00) or a round of golf at the Bali Handara Kosaido Golf and Country Club. One should feel secure as our villa is under a security contract. The use of a private chauffeured car (one day will costs about $37,00), the free use of a motorized boat afford one the opportunity to explore our beautiful island. Any assistance one may require is provides at the Help Desk manned by Sudi. The home and amenities are available from Euro 800,00 (1200.00 USD) per week (As from 2009 Euro 850,00 (1275,00 USD) per week).
